Senator Craig Wilcox Announces $2.5 Million ITEP Grant for City of Woodstock for Streetscape Enhancements

State Senator Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry) announced today that the City of Woodstock will receive an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant totaling $2,523,264 to help with Route 47 streetscape enhancements. The ITEP program grants are issued through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

A total of 66 projects statewide received ITEP grant funding to enhance community bike and pedestrian paths and trails, sidewalks, streetscape beautification, and other community improvement projects.

“I am always pleased when state dollars come back to the 32nd District,” said Wilcox. “These funds will be put to good use as the City of Woodstock works with IDOT to improve intersections and make the community more visually appealing for motorists and pedestrians.”

Specifically, the $2.523 million grant will be used in Woodstock for the installation of colored, stamped-concrete crosswalks at roundabouts and gateway intersections; turf grass, trees, and shrubs in center medians; landscaping at intersections and roundabouts; pedestrian/decorative lights at roundabouts; streetlights along a pedestrian/bike path. The improvements will run along IL Route 47 from U.S. Route 14 to IL Route 120.

According to Wilcox, 233 ITEP applications were received, and the funding total for all 66 projects stands at $139.2 million.
