State Senator Craig Wilcox is hosting a food drive from February 9 through February 27 to support the Spring Grove Food Pantry, which is currently facing a shortage of food items for residents who rely on the pantry for assistance.
The winter months are often the most difficult time for food pantries, as donations typically slow after the holidays while demand remains high due to cold weather and increased household expenses. Senator Wilcox says the food drive is intended to help ensure families in need continue to have access to essential items.
“I recently learned that the Spring Grove Food Pantry is running low on food and basic necessities, and I wanted to step up to help,” said Wilcox. “No family should have to worry about where their next meal will come from, especially during the coldest months of the year.”
Community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries, which will go directly to restocking the pantry’s shelves.
“Winter can be an especially challenging time for struggling families,” Wilcox added. “This food drive is a simple way for our community to come together, lend a helping hand, and make a real difference for our neighbors.”
Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday at the following locations:
- Senator Wilcox’s District Office
209 N. Benton Street, Woodstock
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. - Spring Grove Village Hall
7401 Meyer Road, Spring Grove
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
“I’m grateful for the generosity of our community and thank everyone in advance who is able to contribute,” said Wilcox. “Every donation helps ensure the Spring Grove Food Pantry can continue serving those who need it most.”
