Constituents of State Senator Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry), who want to learn more about how their property tax bills are created and how to appeal their assessments if they want to challenge them, are invited to attend a FREE property tax seminar on Thursday, August 13, in McHenry. McHenry County Chief Assessments Officer Alejandro Benitez will be the guest presenter at the event.
“My office hears regularly from residents who are either confused about line items on their tax bill or who believe they are being over-taxed,” said Wilcox. “Alejandro Benitez is extremely knowledgeable and he will take a difficult subject matter and explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Equally as important, he will help ensure all attendees are receiving every exemption to which they are entitled. Anyone with questions about their tax bill is encouraged to attend.”
